pointless drivel...
so i started my new job.. and i simply have to write about it..lol.. and suffice it to say that i am exahsted.. its an 8 hour shift (except for yesterday wher i had to come in 30 mins early for paperwork and a tour, lucky for me that i came in 30 minutes early for that, so it was a 9 hour shift for which i'll only be paid 7.5 after 30 min lunch is deducted). today will be worse tho.. cause (agaist my better nature) i'm at my other office right now, as of 8:30 this morn. not that i need to be cause i'm making more money at my new job, but i figured 1) its a few extra bucks (min wage here is 7.45, which is my present salery here) 2) i wanted to finish out my job here on a good note, 3) i do actually like my job sometimes while i'm here..lol.. so yah, anyways, i'm at my office now, i had to be up at 7:30a, i'll be here at reception till 12:30p, when i go to a voluteer appreciation lunch, then to my other office till 2pm'ish, then to my new job at 3p till 11p.. so i'll get home at 11:30p if i have a heart attack running for the bus when i'm done my shift, or 12midnight if i allow my self a peacefull 2 block walk after this 15 hour shift... then i'm gonna get home and i'll have more then missed the cut off time of 9:30p to call and order beer.. and thats if i would even be able to drink at midnight cause i have to be up in the morning for one and two Jas and i will end up going to bed shortly after i get in.
so really i've complained and written nothing of my new job. ok so i've figured out alot about technical support: we really dont know much more then your average computer person. no one on the team needed extensive computer training, (tho most have cause we like computers) and honestly no one really has a real big problem anyways, so most of our technical knowledge is wasted. i'll spill the beans, dont call roggers, belll, biggpond, or anyone else for that matter when ur internet gets all buggy for no reason: powercycle (unplug and replug) your modem, and if that doesnt work, restart your computer. THIS WILL RESOLVE 60-75% OF ALL CONNECTION PROBLEMS. and 39-24% of problems can be fixed by deleting your temporary internet files and cookies. theres a 1% percent chance you have a genuin internet issue. this issue has the definate chance of needing to be resolved by tech support, but follow these two simple steps first, because any resonably well informed and trained tech support will have you do one or both anyways...
anyways.. enough pointless ranting for today.
